Sahara Surfers - Spacetrip On A Paper

Austrians post stoner rockers Sahara Surfers came
their own first Cd Spacetrip On A Paper Plane .With influences from Queens of
the Stone Age to Dozer and the female Vocalist Julia Überbacher lead the
songs with her expressive voice sometimes reminds me PJ Harvey, the quartet have
a nice solid clear sound . Color jam the first track randomly i think attempts
to german stoner Colour Haze middle period a slow tempo song , the
propeller and 8.12 goes to more heavy sort paths , Sister In Shade is move a
little bit to alternative rock and even more Gas the closing track of the record
.The band sometimes lacks heaviness but they have that mesmerizing
atmosphere with that melodic songs give a something special than we expect . The
Cd is self released and probably limited edition so we recommend to get
your copy from the site before is too late .

Elvis Deluxe - Lazy (CD) Get By Records
From Warsaw this guys are active about 7
years and finally released qu debut Cd on Get By Records including ten High
energy heavy rock n roll tracks with glam punk attitude .The quartet
swing between stoner rock and glum punk rock like the Germans
speedway 69 and Gluecifer and escape from usual stoner rock sound. The
album starts with the fast punk rock song Superorfeo that reminds a little
of bit Nick Oliveri's Mondo Generator especially the vocals from bass
player Ziemba ,slow tempo songs like Extraterrestrial Hideout Seeker , 27 and
The Mountain don t seem very interesting , the power of Elvis
Deluxe is in the fast rhythm songs with the punk roots like
Superorfeo, Perfect Ride ,For the Soul and Between Heaven and Hell especially
are beyond the standards with none of this boring solos that some other bands
trying to delivering , the more fast is the songs from Elvis Deluxe the better
results .The sound of the recording is very clear and an extra credit to awesome
artwork ! If you like groups like Quotsa, Mondo Generator,Spoiler Mother Misery
this cd is for you.

1000mods "Liquid Sleep Ep 7'' inch

This is the second release from the
new promising stoner rock band from Greece 1000 mods on SuiSound / C.T.S
avaliable on light green vinyl. Burnt sleep is the A-side of the Ep remind to us
in the start the Dragonaut Sleep's Holy Mountain a slow tempo stoner
psychedelic track with a solid riff vocal lines in close to Greek
legends Nigthstalker and Fu Manchu quite decent vocals for a new Greek band in
the stoner genre. Liquid Sleep the B-side
an instrumental fuzz more experimental and chaotic with fuzz
guitars solos and distortion take the impressions and shows that
1000 mods have more wide skills . The band is in the process to
record a CD in autumn and we hope to include tracks like
Liquid Sleep then we hade to wait to listen the new stuff .

Members from the Death Doom pioneers
Swallow the Sun come with Plutonium Orange first cd (Volume) and
promises heavy fuzz riffs and the result is at least enthusiastic .The
band includes the lead guitarist and songwriter of Swallow the
Sun Juha Raivio how writes allmost the songs and lyrics with the vocalist
Samuli Liekkinen , the drummer is Pasi Pasanen olso in Swallow the Sun and
the bassist Antti Sjöblom .Fans of Sparzanza and Mother Misery will dig this
stuff and songs like (Killer by the Road) and (Bring Out Your Dead)
the two hits off the cd that will play some times more the others. The Record
have the same sound tempo on almost the time and sometimes goes monotonous
but this element focus . The vocals of the are melodic and track s like Glow
give something more than a hard rock ballad .Volume will satisfied fans
off Truckfighters and other stoner rock bands from Finland Manhai
and Sunride ,that will call the new stoner rock sound of late 00'.

HELL DARKNESS - Heartfelt 7"

They came from Israel and including ex members of
FROSTGRAVE and TANGORODRIM already know for "Justus Ex Fide Vivit" CD on
Southern Lord Records fans of extreme sounds black metal and doom
scene . Heartfelt the first EP from this old school style black metal
band from released from Doomentia records in this June. A side Heartfelt is a
speedy black thrash metal in the vein of Darkthrone and first
Bathory albums with the 80's feel.The b-side Dark Underground Of Hell
(Dedicated to Quorthon) is a lower tempo doomy song that could like every doom
metal fan. The sound recording are excellent the rhythm section are solid played
by Darkness (bass, drums) and Heller (guitars, vocals) riff sounds clear and the
vocals are mighty. Definitely a pure underground 80's black metal band raw
and aggressive . Mention here that the vinyl came in die-cut hole sleeve with
insert and limited to 500 copies and Hell Darkness are in process to
released more songs in the full length album in early in next year ,
so stay tuned in the Official Homepage .

- COJONES- SUNRISE (SONIC DOOM RECORDS)

Formed in 2006 at Zagreb the Croatians heavy rockers with
the weird name Cojones released the first full album Sunrise , the follow
up to Cojones / Umor - Split give us 10 well produced stoner rock
tracks.The first impressions on Clearing Potion and Prozac sound's
more into Kyuss-esque late period are fast riff tracks with the
vocals on background opposite with dreamlounge and fairy with the vocal
harmonies changes of Bojan Kocijan , are more close to modern bands like
Astroqueen and Truckfighters .Monsterchild with a perfect opening crushing
drums and guitar riff is one of the best tracks on the release. The doomy
superskunk came as surprised us with the flute in the middle , but astral
queen came unnoticed .Ending track shadows change more to alternative rock in
Tool Lateralus than stoner rock. The recording of the Cd is very clear for an
independent release ,and the production are fine. The final
conclusion is very satisfactory - you get what you expect..
stoner rock in traditional style of all the modern bands .Fans of Dozer
and (us) Sunnshine should check this release .

TEN PAGE PILOT - CIRCLE LINES EP
- Here we had a Ten page pilot's debut Ep from
Netherlands swing somewhere to Grunge , Alternative and Stoner rock .It's
the first track (Metropolitan and Circle Lines ) a fuzz fast song you can hear
the Billy Corgan similarities on vocals ,unlike the second track (In The City )
is classic stoner rock song with a groovy riff sound's close
to Finland's Band Sunride and perfect structure , possibly a hit of the cd ,
continue (Get a life) with electronic element's is very close to Norway's
Alternative rockers Audrey Horne . If you ask me for the best song
then i choose (... And God Denied The Bullet In The Sky) with massive
drums and rhythm and many vocal changes , (You're Fire ) a ballad
that close the record. Ten page pilot it's worth promising band from
Holland , don't expect mature sound here or 70's ! It' Alternative rock
and Stoner rock so close ?, it's the 90's !

TIDE AND SHOCKWAVE
Terraplane came
with the first full official 2LP/CD Into the
Unknown on Nasoni records in Germany to
shake the waters for the stonerrock community
became soon a classic record for every heavy rock fan .
After seven years the band decide to broke up ,
but we are lucky for the unreleased material
of demo recordings and sessions for the
audience directly from the band ! Burning Flowers
the opening track with distorted rhythm guitars
seem to be familiar for 90', 00' heavy rockers and
the follow track (born to late) not Saint Vitus
song. Cry of the ocean queen surprised me with the moody
60's atmosphere .Tracks from first Cd including here
like Liquid Dust' and Devil lurks Behind a Tie'
are different versions .Rub-al-khali (from the sessions
got the desert blues) a song that show the skill of the
band to mix blues elements in 70's main influences .The
band inspired first by Led Zeppelin (that's came some
Easter melodies and sitar like Zeppelin) Garden of love
.Until you die ' is an acoustic creepy ballad .The last
track earthbound a psych/jam more than 12
min's close the record .The Guitarist
Christian Peters are active with artworks and the
new band Samsara Blues Experiment and a recording
is on the plans , Terraplane T-shirts are
available from psychedoomelic music store or the
official myspace site.

Pinata is a bit more 70's retro

Sometimes Singer SUN cover all the music with his
fantastic performance reminds me a melodic Layne
Staley's voice (A.I.C) Facelift's on drone station !
Fans off 7ZUMA7 and SPOILER they love track's like Love
It or Leave It , Rift and Sweet Kaos . Finally
Grand Design a Heavy Psychedelic end track
this puzzle . The sound quality of the production
is clean and for independent release . For fans of
Monster Magnet and Solarized this album totally worth it !

From kraut rock to surf and garage annot rhul base

cd start with the melancholic acoustic Lost in Woods and
ghost children a ballad with additional female vocals
and melotron .The first part of cd closed with track The
Dark Lord the most heavy song the album with horror
vocals .The second part of the the cd start with
Mirage another acoustic psych , Planes or Time
Machines an instrumental with heavy psych riff ,
continued in the same tempo you will find King Arthur an
excellent surf 60's song you will be
surprised .The cd is recommended for 60's psych fans not
for groovy heavy rockers !

After 19 years and Seattle
explosion there are still band's around the world
that product Grunge sound's succeeded , and even in
Greece ! With the members full music biography on
garage band's , HeadQuake create a record with a lot
of mixed elements . The band is not Alternative , stoner
rock or grunge but all this music genres together .
The quintet
synchronized and take the role's , rhythm guitar ,
lead guitar, bass all fit in 3D HeadQuake sound .The Cd
start's with a psychedelic grunge song (once more) with
a fantastic background lead guitar , then up in the
mountain a glam grunge with a usual lyrics in riff
(she's like it she is there) after follow up the
nice creepy ballad serve your messiah with excellent
bass lines , another mention is the the
track she knows a classic stonerrock
song , and a funky song start the fire , the ending
track remind me a mid period of Alice in chains in
sap and jar of flies is a final surprise . For Grunge
Revivals Fans will be a plus for a collection .

Echos of yul
is a new Post Doomcore indie band from Opole on
south Poland .The forthcoming CD on independent
label we're all pacinos records will includes 12
tracks of mainly instrumental music and some spoken
word's additional from the band and guest's. The
band is the brainchild of Michal Sliwa and Jarek
Lesklewicz , they perform all instruments samples
and production. The band have lot of influences
from unsane to brian eno , starts with midget an
intro track about a 3 minutes and continue with the
heavy doom noise From Infinity To Infinity a song
describes the main sound of the band with heavy riff
and noise electronic elements fit together great .
The song Or probably the best song of cd a
psychedelic doom track , following from the Walking
Skeletons a catchy riff reminds me 35007 ep sea of
tranquility and monkey 3 , after the screms of pony
and industrial melancholy of ape and open , the
final track 32 (Everlasting Drifting) is a mix of 11
minute of all elements of the cd .Mastered by
James Plotkin (khanate isis) the cd will be
available on July.Maybe the best keep secret off
indie Doom core now it's not a secret anymore!Just

Progressive Rock and Death metal , easily can hear
the Influences here from Reverend Bizarre and

melodies (Cosmic Key) .Markus Heinonen (Guitar &
Vocals) write all most of the songs with some help
from other members , all the songs are about a 12
to17 minutes long with growls and clean vocals fit
together with heavy riff changes time to time .
Don't expect cachy riffs or stoner sound here , it's
100 % atmospheric ancient doom with space elements
.The CD comes with all the lyrics and a pictures of
great artwork .
