Sundown is one of these bands that will impressed the newcomers of stone
rock music genre .Their origin from Stockholm/Sweden make some
warranty to audience to pay attention and more.... .Rodeo Electrica
delivered a new fresh vibe than the debut album Stonerized and aspire to
be known also in mainstream hard rock fans , plenty of melodies ,creepy
ballads and different types of songs quorum this 13 song album.
- Evil Wand
is a classic stoner fuzzy song with a whirling guitars and the vocalist
lead the composition and shows some skills of the throat , this getting
more similarity with the latest Fu Manchu albums ,'Highway Messiah'
continued in the same tempo .Personally I prefer to listen tracks like
'Sorrows' an acoustic ballad from the far west this melodies unfold the
music talent of Ponamero Sundown members also 'The Dice' adding mellow
parts in fits perfectly .Songs like '1025' proof that the
advantage of the band is the vocalist , he don t have a special tint but
is very dynamic and exceedingly clear !'Rodeo eléctrica, Part I'
finish the first part of the record .. pay attention here to acoustic
bass. 'Shot for Glory' is one of this song that getting better from the
working production otherwise 'Sinners Breed' worth to listen again ,
this track include some great rhythms .. drummer shines here .'Not the
Time' must have some influences of Los Natas (El Gobernador , Toba
trance era) .'Not the Time' and 'The Ghost' strangely reminds me
the Sweden disbanded band Mammoth Volume , i wonder if they add keyboard
parts in the songs could be a good idea for the heavy songs ; anyway the
sound are really melodic now .Highlights of the records are the last
songs ..'Fathomless Nothingness' and 'Rodeo eléctrica, Part II'
definitely a good sign .
