Review
Frantic debut compilation from Stargun
Music including the most of the forthcoming independent heavy rock /stone rock bands in the United Kingdom.
The
Compilation start with the well know 'XII Boar' (pronounced twelve boar)
they seem to change slightly than the XII EP to
more trendy and mainstream sound , they missing some dirtiness than XII
EP however the bass lines and rhythm is excellent.

continued with a southern rock bluesy feeling as well.Trippy
Wicked & Cosmic Children of the Knight with
'Up the snakes' goes more to metallic stoner paths , hardly i find
similarities with other bands you can describe them close to Nebula and
Chrome Locust - the singer use a lot of echo's effects and partial lead
guitars. 'Goaf Leaf' is a band that easily remind me 'Firebird'
all 70's Cream and Zeppelin stuff lyrically and musically. The Bad
Channels are an alternative heavy band with crossover elements
like also Slabdragger that goes more to doom sludge music style. 'Stubb'
contains two members from Trippy Wicked here is more clear about the
style 70's influenced like 'Halfway To Gone'. Dopefight wins my
attention with the extra heaviness , without be sacrilege
remind me first era Sleep and Ramesses - thats why i asked the cd for
reviews here ! .Sons of Alpha Centauri are well
known from the split with K2B and Yawning Man , here Jeremy randomly
choose on of the the worst tracks from them!
Stargun
Music decide to tag this compilation preciseness Heavy Rock and not
Stoner Rock , Neon Tigers and The Bad Channels do not have many
relevance with this music genre.
This
could be reference point for British Heavy Rock , even me i already know
2 or 3 bands before , many thanks to
Jeremy
and Ross for put in the surface this new bands !
