Back on our 90,s favorite psyche rock sounds here from Texas (The Mike Gunn, Charalambides, Dunlavy ect )! Featuring in legendary Ptolemaic Terrascope magazine for the new audience we have to put some description here about the origin of the The Linus Pauling Quartet from Houston of Texas the music scene highly influenced from 13th Floor Elevators, Blue Cheer, Neil Young , LP4 born back in 1994 released several Cd's Lps and 7'' singles. Line up are mainly five members , Clinton Heider , Stephen Finley, Charlie Horshack, Ramon Medina, Larry Liska ,with Carol Sandin on keys as well the latest album Horns of Ammon start with Lost It All a desert melody song that is close to their neighbors Meat Puppets and Thin White Rope as well more heavy the Nowhere with repeating riff double guitars sounds clear with the wide bass behind ,a heavy pop songs for now with a melancholy touchy feel .Monster olso in a 7" vinyl split single (see the lyrics)/ST 37 a fuzzy psychedelic hit as the refrain said (There's a monster- living in my head) you will click the repeat button many times .Porno In the Sink goes to cow punk and anyway the melody and irony humor flows and in 5th track Concubine! I've Been Down a creepy ballad mention me indifferent otherwise with HAWG!!! a 10 minute jam blues song extended as long the performed this song feels natural and seems they recorded live .Mix different styles such as heavy garage , psyche pop and even blues Linus Pauling Quartet still unique . Not a rehash heavy new rock material in this CD .Recommended to start your LP4 collection from this album one of the best keep secret s in independent Texas rock scene along in 16 years .
