Thousand Codes - A Womb For Horus CD EP (2011)

Review
Most of the times the new stoner rock band 's influenced by seventies , here Thousand Codes (FR) from Nantes  take the most music inspiration from ninety's and the last decade this maybe will be strange you but also give more off a fresh vibe , for audience that accused recycled boring stuff like Black Sabbath ,Captain Beyond riff lines and Zeppelin solos will give a change to Thousand Codes. Starting with "Horus" opening packed with fill off bass i notice that they give a leading role to vocals and lyrics ( B. the vocalist have a hoarse voice with sludge feel) ,"You Know You're Wrong" will passed by me unnoticed  otherwise with "Miss Piggy" the structure of  the song seems similar and classic but the vocals line's give something more efficient , Phoenix Breath the last song of the Ep is the highlight , a post rock song with influences from Pelican and the 00's stoner scene. The production and recording is excellent heavy catchy riff's and no extended during time , but the package is poor this happened with all unsigned bands that self released their own Cd's.
If we could describe band's music to similar stoner rock bands  is closer to Dozer ,Duster 69 and "Sunnshine  (Engender Ep) , if you like post heavy rock and new stuff give them a listen.
